The preservation of national values is based on ensuring and stimulating the continuity of cultural traditions. The DAR Foundation for Regional Development and Competitiveness constantly supports and encourages cultural initiatives, paying special attention to the preservation, reappraisal and dissemination of national culture.

magazine

In 2012, the DAR Foundation initiated multi-year funding, technical re-equipment, and assistance in the dissemination of the oldest Armenian Russian-language literary magazine called Literary Armenia.

opera

On July 16, 2021, at the opera studio of the Yerevan State Conservatory named after Komitas’ famous opera by Christoph Gluck, Orpheus and Eurydice was presented to the Armenian audience for the first time. Directed by French-based 23-year-old director Vram Karapetyan, it was performed by the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Armenia.

10th International Festival of Young Musician-Performers

In 2020, within the framework of the New Names program, the 10th International Festival of Young Musicians-Performers was held, which today gives young people an opportunity to showcase their abilities.

In 2020, the DAR Foundation supported the publication of the book, the Soviet Armenia Awards: 1920 – 1991

On June 21, 2020, with the support of the DAR Foundation, the Bnorran historical and cultural public organization hosted a live broadcast from the Zorats Karer (Karahunj) historical-cultural reserve, at the time of a famous astronomical event, the summer solstice. World-famous scientists and cultural figures participated in the event. A direct video link was established with England’s Stonehenge, France’s Carnac and other countries holding similar events.

Album reissue

In November 2019, the DAR Foundation provided financial support to TM Production LLC, on the initiative of Elena Mirzoyan, of an album dedicated to the memory of Eduard Mirzoyan, performed by the Komitas State String Quartet.

Highly appreciating the art of cinema, and its role and importance in the development of generations, in 2019, the DAR Foundation supported the creation and organization of the premiere and promotion of the feature film, I Will Give You A Victory.

in the Tsaghkunk community of the Gegharkunik region

Within the framework of programs for the development of the Tsaghkunk district of the Gegharkunik region, the DAR Foundation supported the restoration of the village of Glhatun and the improvement of the adjacent territories.

Sharing the values and ideas of the Friends of Philharmonic Orchestra initiative, since 2019, the DAR Foundation has been providing financial support for the implementation of the orchestra’s programs.

In 2019, the Yerevan Mkhitar Sebastatsi Educational Complex organized the annual International Festival of Sculpture, Architecture and Environment.

In order to support local and Armenian Diaspora artists, by providing an opportunity and a platform for presenting their works, the DAR Foundation joined a new cultural program organized by the Armenian General Benevolent Union.

In August 2018, the DAR Foundation provided financial support to Shaula International LLC for the International Contemporary Art Exhibition: Armenia 2018.

The DAR Foundation supported the State Chamber Orchestra of Armenia, which from the 3 to 7 August 2017, participated in numerous festivals such as the Festival Gargiless, Eglise Notre Dame de Chateauroux. Festival Pulinge, and the Eglise Puplinge festivals, which were held in France and Switzerland.

Ancient Armenian musical instruments

Initiative

On the initiative and with the funding of the DAR Foundation, ancient Armenian instruments were made, such as medieval copper pipes, Dvin violins, etc. All this was done with the aim of recording Arthur Shakhnazaryan’s opera-ballet David of Sasun and popularizing his work.

National Song and Dance Academy

The mission of the National Song and Dance Academy is to study, teach and popularize national songs and dances, making them a part of the living culture of the Armenian people, and contribute to the growth of national identity.

In 2016, the DAR Foundation made a donation to the National Song and Dance Academy SNCO.

 

Denmark to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide

On October 10-16 2015, as part of events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, the Midwest Girls Choir from the city of Herning, in Denmark’s Jutland region, visited Armenia.

Revived Characters

In September 2015, with the support of the DAR Foundation, a project of the Museum of Russian Art Revived Characters was implemented, the purpose of which was to present sketches by famous Russian authors of performing arts. The exhibition gave a special flavor to the general collection of the museum. The DAR Foundation supported the event in the form of financial support.

St. Sarkis Church in Tsaghkunk

The St. Sarkis Church was built on a hill called Khachi Dosh in the eastern part of the Tsaghkunk village, just south of the chapel of St. Sarkis, built in the 7th century. The architect of the church is Vachagan Tadevosyan. The chapel was also restored. The consecration ceremony of the church took place on October 7, 2006.
